Reinvention of a Central Park Landmark

The reopening of Tavern on the Green—one of New York’s most iconic destinations—required a refined yet durable design approach, balancing elegance with the demands of a high-volume hospitality environment.

The project called for a casual, elevated dining experience rooted in craftsmanship, while ensuring the furniture program could withstand intensive daily use at scale.

Meraki's principals were contracted to deliver a fully custom furniture program to elevate the guest experience while performing under continuous, high-traffic conditions.

 

Scope

Working alongside designer Lori Kuepler, Meraki principals were engaged to:

  • Translate a hand-crafted design vision into a scalable, executable program
  • Source and coordinate production with artisanal fabricators in Lake Como, Italy
  • Develop a cost-efficient furniture budget aligned with bespoke design intent
  • Lead full-service project planning, procurement, and implementation
  • Manage intricate customization across multiple furniture typologies
